Welcome to NORTHERN NEW JERSEY
Chapter 7 of the National Institute for Governmental Purchasing, Inc.

The intent of this site is to share with our members useful procurement information, to create a place where we can communicate with one another, to offer a unique site that makes the resources used by each of us readily available.

Our mission is to uphold the ethical standards of the national association, encourage continuing education and professionalism in public procurement, and to facilitate networking among New Jersey purchasing professionals. We strive together for the improvement of laws relating to government purchasing.

The philosophy of the charter members, which has carried through to today, is to obtain sufficient funds from membership dues to cover the cost of luncheon meetings for paid members, and for miscellaneous expenses. No attempt is made to maintain a treasury of surplus funds; member dues also pay our annual chapter assessment to the parent organization and cover limited expenses such as occasional postage, recognition plaques, scholarships and bereavement acknowledgements.

"PURCHASING IS NOT A FINANCIAL FUNCTION OF GOVERNMENT;
IT IS AN ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTION OF COMPLIANCE"
